Ituna

Ituna is a Rival 38 built in 1979. She is a heavy displacement boat - so very sea kindly - which is a good thing as Mags gets very sea sick. A Rival is not the fast boat - but we always arrive safely.

She has logged many miles having sailing across the Atlantic and Round Britain. The picture to the right is our favourite anchorage from our trip round Britain - Puilladobhrain, which means pool of the otter, though the otters have long gone.

We both have a Scottish heritage which has influenced the logo on our cruising chute. We have a fully battened main and 140% genoa.

When on board, she is our home and one of the best compliments we have received is that she is very homely. We love to entertain on board and the most we have had below decks was 12 - it was a bit cramped!

We have just got a new cooker - so the end of a paraffin smell and the start of an oven that works well.

There is a good sized chart table - where we have a chart plotter and radar, - which is repeated on deck, Navtex , DSC VHF etc.
